How to Use Formula Audio Lab

Getting Started

Click ▶ Play or enable any formula checkbox to start audio. Audio starts automatically when you enable a formula.

Formulas

Each formula is a mathematical sound generator. Enable multiple formulas simultaneously by checking their boxes. Adjust parameters with sliders or +/− buttons.

Effects

Click 🎛 to open the effects panel. Available effects: Filter, Chorus/Flanger, Reverb, Limiter, Delay, and Phaser. Toggle each effect with its checkbox.

Presets

  • Dropdown — select from built-in or your saved presets
  • Save preset — save with a custom name (or auto-named "Preset N")
  • × button — delete your saved presets
  • Share — copy URL; recipients auto-save the preset

Recording

Click Record to capture audio to WAV file. Click again to stop and download.

Tips

  • Start with low Gain values — some formulas can be loud
  • Use Limiter when experimenting with chaos (Lorenz, Rossler)
  • "Reset state" re-initializes formulas like Karplus-Strong (pluck again)
